ARTO MANOBATA UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (AMAUS) is a local non-profitable and non-governmental voluntary social development organization. It was established in 1995 with the initiation of some like -mined educated social workers in jail road under Jashore district with an aim to promoting the socio-economic status of the poor , underprivileged and disadvantaged people, emphasizing the women and children’s status in Bangladesh through containerization, non-formal education, institution building & health awareness, arsenic mitigation programs , utilization of local resources and undertaking fell need based programs to address the prevailing situation. In1995 the organization was established as a full- fledged social service development organization. It believes in bottom up, non- directive integrated and participatory development framework and acts as a catalyst with its concerned people. |

Objectives as Per Constitution of AMAUS: a) Organize child & youth welfare programs & implementations. b) Rehabilitate distressed men & women. a) Undertake health & family planning programs & implementation. b) Undertake socioeconomic development activities & implementation. c) Undertake night school, adult & child education. d) Create employment opportunities for the poor people. e) Undertake primary health awareness programs for the poor & disadvantaged people. f) Undertake awareness programs on drug addiction & smoking. g) Conduct free clinic & establish hospital of the poor people. h) Undertake diary firm on rearing poultry. i) Form groups, & create savings awareness. j) Distribute treatment & medicines. k) Undertake awareness programs on drug addiction & smoking. l) Conduct free clinic & establish hospital of the poor people. m) Undertake diary firm on rearing poultry. n) Form groups, & create savings awareness. o) Distribute treatment & medicines. |
Organizational Management: AMUS has been governed by a General Council (GC) consisting of 21 members, which is the highest policy-making body of this organization and they sit together once in a year An executive committee (EC) of 7 (seven) members has been formed by Voting/Selection of the GC members who are the key players to look after the whole system and management of the organization. They sit together in every alternative month to formulate policy decision, review and approve the budget expenditures, plans and progresses. Besides, there is an Advisory Committee of 5 members who demonstrate advisory role to the Director for proper implementation of the development interventions. The Director materializes the decisions of the EC through 25 staff members, 20 teachers and 20 volunteers who are experienced skill and trained in the field of development. |
